Manufacturing in series

Series production is the industrial-level creation of a product designed and conceived through a series of upstream operations. Every series has a beginning and the “first series” stage is decisive for the future of the project. At this point, there is still time to adjust parameters, even though any change is likely to generate significant costs and an extension of deadlines. Ideally, this step is but a verification formality.

Series production makes it possible both to standardise the image implemented and achieve substantial economies of scale. This dual advantage lies at the heart of Visotec’s client strategy.

When the project reaches this level of maturity, products are manufactured on continuous, dedicated production lines. These, of course, echo the fundamentals of Taylorism. Certain components or sub-components are manufactured on automated machines: punching machines, folding machines, thermoforming machines, etc. In addition, some manual assemblies are “mass-produced”, to ensure the consistency and quality of the product handled.

However, our craft business is still only semi-industrial, in that it requires a large number of human interventions. Some operations are carried out by real craftsmen with exceptional manual expertise. This is why our quality system, certified ISO 9001, is largely based on the control of the manufacturing process at each stage and from one operator to another, each being responsible for its work.

Let’s talk about what we do
